Sand Creek trailhead Wenatchee National Forest, near Cashmere
Cashmere is between Wenatchee and Leavenworth on Hwy 2. You can get there from either Blewett Pass (Hwy 97) or Stevens Pass (Hwy 2).
Eastbound on Hwy 2 turn right into Cashmere at the traffic light. This will put you onto Cotlet Way.
Right off the highway theres a grocery store on your left if you need to do any last minute shopping.
Take Cotlet Way through town, at the T in the road turn left which will put you on Division St.
Division makes a 90 degree turn to the right, just past that corner turn left on Mission Creek Rd.
Mission Creek Rd. is a narrow winding road through orchards and a few houses. It eventually turns to dirt and goes by a house that kind of looks like a junkyard. Just past the junkyard the road forks, stay to the right.
A short ways up the road is another fork, to the left is a gated road, stay right and the trailhead is right up the road.
It is a small trailhead, so well cram in tight.
A Northwest Forest Pass parking pass is required at the trailhead. They are $5 per day or $30 per year, available at all Forest Service ranger stations. Call the USFS at 1-800-270-7504 for details.
The trails are kind of like Naches was before it got overused. There is very little traffic on the trails and they are generally in great condition no whoops, not too wide, a fair amount of sidehill. There are a couple of good loop rides from camp that are each about 50-60 miles as well as some shorter loops in close to camp. Camp is at about 2000 ft elevation, Tronsen Ridge is up around 4500 ft, jet your bike accordingly.
