Kilted Duck Scottish Trials & Poker Run

• Scottish Trials: The course will be punctuated by “special tests” where competitors will be scored on their ability to ride a variety of terrain quickly. Scores will be your total of times in the tests with points added for touching a foot down, crashing or stalling. Scottish Trials Classes: Novice & Expert

• Poker Run: The participants will draw cards at the tests to determine their score. Poker run riders will be able to watch the Scottish trials riders compete. Awards will be presented to Scottish trials riders posting the lowest scores and to poker run riders with the best poker hands. Not a NMA points event.

Two loops will be used: Everyone will ride the first loop of about 15 miles (depending on available trails). Experts will continue for another loop of similar length. Each loop starts and finishes at the trailhead. We’re shooting for three special tests per loop. Poker run entrants will draw 5 cards (in the first loop only).

ORV tabs, spark arrestor and sound test required. Sound testing will be per NMA standards. Minor’s release required.

Directions:

From I-5 N. at Mt. Vernon, take exit 227 onto College Way. Eastbound on College Way, it will turn into Hwy 538. Turn right (south) on Hwy 9 at the Big Rock Grocery. Go approximately 4 miles down Hwy 9, turn left onto Walker Valley Road and follow arrows to trailhead.
